A mysterious figure shrouded in flames...

Adventurers headed for Luca on a special mission to help thin out the swarms of fiends and sinspawn that had collected since Sin's attack on the city left it devastated and in shambles. It is rumoured that upon arrival, they were met with hordes upon hordes of these fiendish beasts and inevitably found the source of the internal infection of monsters.

A man, elapsed in flames spoke his name as "Zide". Little else is known but the fires around Luca were said to intensify tenfold in their endeavors against him. The survivors whisper rumours of summoned aeons, but little else has been verified.

A massive snowstorm struck Kilika out of nowhere and once more the figure known as Zide was whispered to be the cause, this time accompanied by an Aeon of pale blue pallour and wielding the elements of ice and hail. It is said that a girl went with the two soldiers, one the commander of the SSF, Ceirus, and a mysterious scythe-carrying individual presumed to be called 'Triv'. The girl that accompanied them did not return to Kilika. What is this man's purpose? Nothing seems evident... but fortunately, their endeavours proved successful as Kilika thawed and the sun was gifted back to the horizon.

Besaid beach was overwhelmed by sinspawn once again and flames rose from the darkness of a solitary man's soul. It is here that once again the words of "Eternal Calm" were uttered, but not of peace and prosperity, but the complete annihilation of humanity. That would entail that not only do summoners now have to reckon with the beast known as Sin but also a single man who seeks to devastate the world and destroy human beings in some slit-throat debate over philosophical morality and peace. At the beach, an entire squad of S.S.F trainees and recent recruits were butchered by this man, who was rumoured to brag on how they begged for their lives. When met with stronger members of Besaid and Kilika, he was inevitably overwhelmed and vanished once more into flames.

Flashes of divine, white light were said to blind the night's sky amidst the flames. What's worse is that these men were not sent and no summoner could salvage their forms before fiends grew from the empty husks...

Tragedy is sewing its steps and without a summoner, though many are beginning to doubt their necessity, things aren't getting much better..
